The search for a dean of the College of Business at Grambling State University is near an end. During the week of Oct. 27 the three finalists for the position of dean will be interviewed.
The finalists are Dr. Marvin Keene, Dr. Tsegai Emmanuel, and Dr. Lawrence Shao. Keene will be interviewed on Monday, Emmanuel on Tuesday and Shao on Thursday, Oct. 31.
Keene received his bachelor of science degree in applied economics and his doctorate of philosophy in finance from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla.
He is currently chair of the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance at Coastal Carolina University, Conway, S.C. He is a 2013 faculty inductee for the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma. He has AACSB accreditation experience.
Emmanuel is a current professor of management and former dean of the College of Business at GSU. He has a M.B.A. degree in International Business from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Okla. and a Ph.D. in management and policy administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia. His teaching interests are strategic planning in entrepreneurial businesses, entrepreneurship, and micro finance. Emmanuel has AACSB accreditation experience.
Shao is professor and head of the Division of Finance and Economics at Marshall University, Huntington, West Va. He earned the B.S. in general business and the M.B.A. from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Va. He received the Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Shao currently teaches financial management (graduate), principles of business finance (graduate), intermediate financial management, and principles of finance courses. He has AACSB accreditation experience.
