Grambling holds spring elections for 2024-25 academic year

The Student Government Association and Royal Court held the annual elections for student leadership positions the week of April 2-5. 

 

Most notably the positions of Miss Grambling State University and Student Government President were on the ballot. 

 

The week of events included the Parade on Main Street, and the Queen’s Showcase where candidates for SGA and Royal Court positions were able to introduce themselves. 

 

Also, the 70th Miss Grambling State University Madison Johnson gave her final walk. 

 

Morgan Patton, who served as the 2023-24 Student Government Association Vice President, will serve as the 2024-25 SGA President while Amaya Moore, who served as the 2023-24 Sophomore Class President will serve as SGA Vice President. 

 

Jess’lyn Sanders was also confirmed as the 71st Miss Grambling State University-Elect. 

 

Kennedy Hunter will serve as Senior Class President beside Michaiah Evens, who won her race for Miss Senior-Elect. 

 

Eve Johnson is now Junior class President alongside Olivia Armour, who is Miss Junior-Elect. 

 

Life Makarudze will be Sophomore class President alongside Gervonni-Love Tillman, who was elected Miss Sophomore-Elect. 

 

Elections during next fall semester will determine the incoming Freshman class positions and any positions left open from this election
