Special Olympics set for Ruston’s complex

The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters and Ruston Parks and Recreation Department will host the Special Olympics Louisiana North Unified Softball for any athletes, coaches and volunteers who may like to participate. The event will take place Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at J.C. Love Complex in Ruston.The Ruston Parks and Recreation department has allowed use of its softball fields at the complex. The Louisiana Tech University Lady Techsters softball team will be giving instruction and training to the athletes.

The ladies will also partner with the athletes during the Unified softball competition. All teams need to bring their own equipment. Lunch and water will be provided.

All ages are encouraged to come out and support the athletes. The sporting competitions are free and open to the public. For a detailed schedule of events and more information, log onto www.laso.org.
