‘Blues for an Alabama Sky’ to begin Tuesday

The season opener, Blues for an Alabama Sky, will begin Tuesday, Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 9 at the Floyd L. Sandle Theatre located in Grambling’s Conrad Hutchinson Performing Arts Center.

Set in the 1930 Harlem, New York, the harsh realities of the Great Depression have devastated the bright decade of the Harlem Renaissance.

Disease and poverty have overshadowed the creative happiness that fueled a surge of African American artists.

Directed by Paul Bolin, the production staff includes Quintara Johnson as production stage manager, David Kaul as set and lighting designer and Teshia Lincoln as costume designer.

The cast includes:  Ka’Darius Gray as Guy, Mionne Featherstone as Angel, Adarian Williams as Sam, Erika Goode-Perry as Dealia, and Ibraheem Farmer as Leland.

The show will have nightly performances at 7.  Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for general admission.  Tickets are on sale now.
