In the movie Red Eye, Rachel McAdams plays Lisa Reisert, who hates flying. But she is forced to take the ‘red eye’ flight from Miami because she had a death in her family. For those who might not know what a red-eye flight is: It’;s one of those middle-of-the-night flights that few like but many have to take. It’s also a flight that usually holds only a lot of sleeping passengers.
While Lisa Reisert thinks her emergency flight will take her to a tragedy, little does she know what tragedy awaits her on the trip.
Lisa meets a guy named Jackson, not knowing that he is planning to kill a rich and powerful businessman who was staying at her hotel. Lisa is the main source for Jackson to complete his job. If she refuses to cooperate, an assassin, played by Cillian Murphy, is awaiting a call from Jackson to kill Lisa’s father.
Trapped inside a jet at 30,0000 feet, Lisa has nowhere to run and no way of getting help without endangering her father, her fellow passengers and her own life.
As the miles pass by, Lisa knows she is running out of time.
If you like movies with a lot of action, tension and drama, Red Eye is your movie.
On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give it a 7 just because the running time was only 85 minutes long. I could have waited for it to come out on DVD. I’m not saying the movie wasn’t interesting, it just did not last long enough to justify the $6.75 I paid to see it.
In addition to McAdams and Murphy, the movie stars Brain Cox, Jack Scalia and Jayma Mays. It was directed by: Wes Craven and produced by Bonnie Curtis, Jim Lemley and J.C. Spink.
