G-Men prepare for upcoming season

Spring Football for the G-Men will concluded on Saturday, when the Tigers will go head-to-head against each other in the annual Black and Gold game. The game will take place in Eddie G. Robinson stadium on 6 p.m.

Fans in attendance will have the chance to receive great promotions. The first 350 fans in the stadium will receive free ice cream courtesy of Blue Bell Ice Cream in Ruston.

The Wingstop in Ruston will sponsor the Atomic Wing Eating Challenge.  Five fans will participate in the contest.

The winner will receive a wing part plus other great prizes. Contestants are asked to sign up on game day at the stadium.

The 40th Annual Bayou Classic will be broadcasted on NBC nationally, again. The Bayou Classic team and the NBC Sports Group worked out a three-year extension deal to allow the game to be nationally broadcasted.

For more than 20 years, NBC Sports Group has been the home of the Bayou Classic. Last year, the classic saw a 19 percent rating increased in the 39th annual game.

In order to reach a broader audience, the competition will also be available on-demand at Hulu.com and NBC Sports Network. This addition will allow the rivalry to enter 50 million or more homes.

Season tickets will be available on game day for the upcoming 2013 football season as well as tickets for the Bayou Classic in New Orleans and the return of the Circle City Classic in Indianapolis. The ticket office will be open at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Center.

The kickoff to the 2013 season will start at home on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. The Tigers will defend home field against Alabama A&M University.
