This year’s Grambling State University Homecoming was nothing short of legendary!

With excitement, tradition, and pride filling every day, Homecoming 2024 delivered an unforgettable experience. From electrifying concerts and a spirited pep rally to an engaging career fair and meaningful reunions, the week brought the entire GSU family together like never before — and did so safely.

Sunday, Oct. 13, kicked off with a soulful start at the Gospel Explosion, headlined by none other than gospel music icon Ricky Dillard. His performance uplifted the crowd, setting the tone for the week ahead.

On Monday, students enjoyed a nostalgic Drive-In Movie, while Tuesday was all about fun and connection with Build-A-Tiger and Tiger Madness, where students got to meet the men’s and women’s basketball teams and play games for prizes.

Wednesday’s Late Night Breakfast in the Café was a student favorite, bringing everyone together for some late-night homecoming vibes.

Thursday saw students mixing career preparation with creativity. The Career Fair provided valuable networking opportunities with job recruiters, while the Fashion & Talent Show stole the night. It was a memorable showcase of talent, featuring the debut of the all-new stomp and shake team (Gold Dynasty), the new campus modeling troupe “Unapologetic,” and, of course, the iconic “Black Dynasty.”

Friday’s Yard Fest & Pep Rally turned up the energy, with performances from Cupid, The World Famed Tiger Marching Band, The Orchesis Dance Company, and the championship-winning GSU Cheer team. The Step Show followed, with Alpha Phi Alpha and Alpha Kappa Alpha taking home first-place wins.

The night ended with an epic Hip-Hop Concert featuring artists Neno and Rob49, leaving the crowd hyped.

On Saturday, the festivities continued with the Homecoming Parade and a special Miss Grambling & SGA President Reunion, hosted by current leaders Jess’Lyn Sanders (the 71st Miss Grambling State) and GSU President Morgan Patton.

Then the G-Men took the field in a victorious game against UAPB, winning 31-21. The day ended on a high note with an R&B Concert featuring K. Michelle, Jacques, and J. Howell.

The week closed out on Sunday, with students giving back through a Campus Clean Up, keeping that GramFam spirit alive.
