55 years of beauty and poise – Miss Calendar Girl pageant held

The 55th Annual Miss Calendar Girl Scholarship Pageant was held March 25 in the T.H. Harris Auditorium.

This pageant is held annually to celebrate the beauty, charm, and talent of young women who attend Grambling State University. The first Calendar Girl Pageant was held March 24, 1969, and was sponsored by the Favrot Student Union Advisory Board.

The pageant consisted of five contestants competing for the title of Miss Cover Girl and 21 contestants running for the 12 calendar months. The reigning Miss Cover Girl for 2022-2023 was Madison Johnson.

The winners out of the pool of Calendar Girl contestants from September to August are as follows:

Brooke Stewart, Anslei Kelly, Aliza Davis, D’Asia Jackson, Kaylah Harris, Jamaria Johnson, Reagan Thomas, Lyndajah Burton, Jasmine Boud, Jaylse Owens, Nichole Fairley, and Jalynn Pickens.

The second runner-up, Ms. Swimsuit, and Most Advertisements is Jaeda Garner. The first runner-up Best Interview, and Ms. Academic Excellence is Ariel Box.

The winner of Best Talent and the 2023-2024 Miss Cover Girl is Ryia Williams.

All contestants presented their best daywear, swimwear, and eveningwear. While the contestants for Miss Cover Girl competed in the Parade of Talent.
