Lincoln Parish Library celebrates Black History

The Lincoln Parish Library is honoring Black History Month this February by displaying several pieces of artwork, books, memorabilia and even postage stamps.

All displays are either designed by African Americans, or portray chief figures and importance in Black history.

The “Inner Visions” exhibit features the works of six students from Grambling State University’s Art Department, under the direction of Department Head Rodrecas Davis.

The exhibit will be on display in the library lobby throughout the month of February.

A painting by GSU student Destiny Tuesno will be included in the display.

Books by black authors are being showcased in the library lobby. Also, resting under a monitor is a lineup of popular individuals in Black history.
