Brookshires takes over Legends Market; Grand re-opening set for Oct. 28

Change can be an exciting experience and for the Grambling community, this change will be the start of something new.

Brookshire Grocery Company has decided to make a new home in the Grambling community and this will bring upon change to those involved.

Brookshire Grocery Company has leased the building for the former Legends Market.

“The acquisition of Legends Market looks to be a positive move to continue business operations in that location,” Tisha Arnold, Director of Communications for Grambling State University, said. 

Brookshire’s establishment to the Grambling community could potentially inspire other companies to see Grambling as an area of interest for future business.

“Brookshire’s has a presence in surrounding communities,” Arnold said. “Establishing a location in Grambling can show other franchises and companies that the area has the infrastructure in place to support future economic growth.” 

Greg Robinson, Vice President District Manager for Brookshire Grocery Company encourages students and the community to partake in upcoming events for the grand opening of the grocery store. 

For entertainment, the community can expect to see the World Famed Tiger Marching Band Drumline, Miss Grambling and the Royal Court, and even a 13-foot motorized grocery cart. Promotional giveaways will begin Oct. 31 and will continue for the next four weeks. 

Other benefits include a 5 percent discount for GSU students and Brookshire will have a full deli inside for its customers. 

The Grand Opening for Brookshire will be Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m.
