The play by Mustalpha Mutura is about commerce, marriage and food. In the play, Hugh and Jean are married and cash-rich but time-poor. Business and careers are booming. Trinidad is in the wake of economic growth. However, something is bothering Hugh, maybe it’s the American tobacco company with its mysterious research and cheap cigarettes, or wife Jean who values business over people. Elsa, a country girl and the new help, brings something else besides good cooking, something that disturbs Hugh’s soul and state of mind.
