BARNETT: War: USA vs. Iran

Raquel Barnett

On Jan. 4 President Donald Trump ordered a precision stroke in Baghdad, Iraq to terminate a top Iranian Commander who was plotting “imminent and sinister attacks” on Americans, according to Trump.

I for one believe that this did not stop but start an awful war that has already torn families apart as their loved are being deployed and since the 82nd airborne took flight soldiers have already died as well.

Protecting Americans should the U.S government’s first priority and before striking Trump should have made sure all Americans were back safe at home.

Killing Iran’s top military leaders send nothing but a negative message that the U.S wants more and that I show they have taken it.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has vowed “harsh revenge”, which Trump should have expected.

As of now, Congress is trying to implement restrictions on Trump’s abilities to authorize military actions because he is still on trial for being impeached.

I strongly agree and hope the House moves forwards, it would be a much smarter and wiser thing to do to have someone else take responsibility so that Trump does not create a much worse situation with Iran, that they will have to deal with later.
