Volleyball drops season finale versus UAPB, prepares for SWAC Tournament

The Grambling Lady Tigers volleyball team took on the University of Arkansas  – Pine Bluff on Nov. 14.

To conclude regular season  play, the Lady Tigers (10-23) fell in three sets to the Golden Lions (10-23). 

Both teams finished the season with just 10 wins. However, the UAPB crew did significantly better, finishing with an 8-10 SWAC record to the Lady Tigers at 4-15 in conference play.

Tamria Johnson and Kalee Cadwell ended the game hoigh with seven kills and 12 digs respectively.

Though the Golden Lions won in straight sets (25-10, 25-18, 25-20), there were 11 ties and 11 lead changes during the match. 

This was the final chance to see the Lady Tigers in action this season at home.

They’ll move onto the SWAC tournament where they hope to get a well needed with against Alabama A&M.

Last year, the team was knocked out in the first round by Southern University.

The Bulldogs enter the conference as the number one seed and are the heavy favorites.

They are hoping to make it to the final round as they did last year and ultimately take the title away from Alabama State.

The Lady Tigers finish the regular season at 10-23 overall and enter the conference as the eighth seed.
