WATTERS: Why my phone is something that I cherish…

Cyra Watters is a sophomore mass communication major from Chicago.

An object I cherish is my phone. It has great camera that allows me to take bomb pictures, it keeps me connected to my family, and it allows me to indulge in social media. I have an iPhone 7, which is very different from the rest because of its camera, charging port, headphone jack, and the waterproof capability.

My camera has different filters that allow me to highlight different parts of my face to give me the glow effect. It also allows me to zoom in and out of pictures before and after they are taken. Compared to other phones, my phone is the only one that has a different headphone jack. And on top of that my phone is able to go underwater with me.

Furthermore, my phone has allowed me to stay in touch with my family in Chicago. I have an unlimited plan that gives me extra time to speak to my loved ones. Instead of worrying about how much time I spend on the phone, I can spend as much time as I want. I have a feature on my phone that allows me to see my parents while I am talking on the phone with them called FaceTime.

Lastly, I cherish my phone because it allows me to stay connected to what is happening in the world through social media. On my social media, I can get the latest news and gossip from Twitter and Instagram, as well as, stay updated on the lives of my other peers. My phone has also helped me become more social with other people that stay in different states.

These are just some of the reasons why my phone is something that I cherish. Even though most people may think it is a phone, to me it is much more than that. My phone will continue to be something that I cherish.
