Adidas, GSU celebrate nearly-two year partnership

Adidas hosted a branding booth on the Yard on Friday, Nov. 1 from 1-6 p.m. as part of this year’s homecoming festivities. 

The on-campus branding booth included a Maker Lab gave 300 Homecoming attendees the opportunity to create their own screen-printed Adidas apparel.

Students expressed excitement over the Adidas event. 

“My board and I were fortunate enough to be some of the first and only students to experience it,” Arshauna Candler, president of FSUB, said.

Attendees were invited to choose between four Adidas items for personalization.

 Aside from the Maker Lab, there was an area for students to take pictures with their new customized Adidas item.  

The pop-up branding booth was launched in conjunction with Grambling State University’s two-year partnership with Adidas. 

The on-campus branding booth is the second Adidas promotion for Grambling State University.

The first was Beyonce’s Ivy Park launch with Addidas and the World Famed Tiger Marching Band. 

Grambling signed a $1.2 million apparel and footwear deal with Adidas that began in May of 2018 and is contracted through 2022-2023. 

The Germany-based sportswear company outfits all 15 of Grambling State University’s athletic programs with game day and practice uniforms, cleats and shoes, as well as accessories

“Our partnership with Adidas continues to elevate the student experience,” Grambling State University President Richard Gallot said in a press release.
