Grambling partners with Nicholls State University for MBA program

Grambling State University prides itself on its many accomplishments and partnerships.

When the university does not have certain resources, Grambling State collaborates with other universities to extend the bar for their students.

The partnership between Grambling State University and Nicholls State University, based in Thibodaux, La., gives Grambling students the opportunity to pursue a Master of Business Administration.

Both undergraduate and graduate students are excited about this partnership because it gives them more avenues and pathways to choose from after they graduate.

“I believe that the partnership between Grambling and Nicholls State is very amazing. As a graduating business major, it has been extremely hard trying to determine where I should further my education to achieve my MBA degree,” A’Lexus Lucas, a senior business major, said. “With the partnership that Grambling has with Nicholls, I am very comfortable with considering Nicholls State because I trust the decisions of the College of Business professionals at Grambling State University and knowing that Nicholls State is an accredited university, I can determine that Nicholls State meets certain standards of quality within the business field.”

This further explains how important this partnership is to Grambling students. Having the ability to connect with a master’s program from a different institution while you’re still obtaining your undergraduate degree is phenomenal. In addition, Nicholls State has saved two graduate assistant positions for Grambling graduates upon their arrival in the program. Those students are also able to apply and begin attending classes as early as the beginning of Spring 2020.

Nicholls State has reconstructed their MBA program which allows students to earn their master’s of business administration in only 18 months.

“I believe the partnership is a great opportunity for our students because it gives not only the business majors but the non business majors an opportunity after undergrad,” Dionte Wilson, Recruiter and Admissions Counselor with the GSU Office of Admissions, said.

“A lot of GSU students are business majors and minors and to have an MBA partnership is great because not only does it make our students more marketable but knowledgeable as well. At this point we just have to get the awareness out about the opportunity so that students can take advantage of the agreement to its full potential.”

Even students who have graduated and pursued careers in their fields are interested and looking into this program. In addition to many other programs at Grambling, this will not only help GSU graduates continue their higher level education but increase the number of graduate students produced from the university.

The partnership also recruits prospective business students, which exemplifies the lengths that Grambling State University will go to for their students.
