The 2019 Grambling State University football team schedule was recently released on Monday.
The first three games are on the road, however two of the three are located in Northern Louisiana.
The home opener is scheduled for Sept. 14, however, the opponent will be scheduled at a later date.
The team opens the season at the University of Louisiana Monroe on Aug. 31.
Tigers will face the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech University on Sept. 7.
“It’s going to be great being able to play in front of my hometown,” senior wide reciever Quintin Guice told The Gramblinite. “It’s a chance to play in two great atmospheres, and get some great exposure for our team..”
On Sept. 21, the Tigers will finally be leaving the state. They will head to Montgomery, Ala. to face the Alabama State Hornets.
Sept. 28, GSU will travel to Dallas, Texas to face-off against Prairie View A&M for the annual State Fair Classic inside of the Cotton Bowl.
Grambling will play Jackson State for the first time since 2017 on Oct. 5 in Jackson, Miss.
High School Day will be Oct. 12 when the Tigers will face Alabama A&M.
On Oct. 19 the Tigers travel to Arkansas-Pine Bluff to play the Golden Lions.
Homecoming will be held on Nov. 2.
The Tigers will host Alcorn State for Senior Day on Nov. 11.
The last two games of the season will be on the road.
The first stop will be Nov. 16 in Itta Bena, Miss. where the Tigers will face the Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils.
After a bye week, they will then head to New Orleans for the annual Bayou Classic against Southern University on Nov. 30.
