Q&A with a talented singer

Jubella Rose Davis is a first year business and marketing major from Dallas, Texas. Davis is a member of DDC dance team. She is also a coach for the Ruston Jr. High/High school Uphy Step Team.

 

1. What inspired you to become a singer?

“There was not one sole moment that I can say clearly inspired me to start singing. I just knew that I had a gift and I wanted to use it.”

 

2. How long have you been singing?

“Honestly, I have been singing for as long as I can remember. I believe I have been singing since I was two years old.”

 

3. What are your plans after college?  

“My plans after college are to use my degree to fulfill my dreams and aspirations. In the music industry there is a lot of money and knowing how to market yourself involved. I think my degree will help me a lot.”

 

4. What events have you performed at on campus?

“I have sung at open mic, the homecoming talent show,  and the Main G- event.”

 

5. What was your favorite performance so far?

“My favorite performance was the homecoming talent show because it was my first time showcasing my talent in front of my peers. It really felt great because Grambling support for artist is so genuine.”

 

6. How do you feel when you sing?

“When I sing I go into another place. It’s like I’m a whole new person. It is my way to relief stress. I also just let away all my feelings in my music.”

 

7. Where do you see yourself in music in the next 10 years?

“In the next ten years I’ll be a R&B sensation and I’ll have at least 10 hits by then. I will be managing new upcoming artist straight out of Grambling.”
