GramDads Father Initiative to hold meeting 

 

Are you a student? Are you a father? Are you interested in connecting with other fathers who are students here at Grambling? 

 

If you answered yes to these questions, come out and learn more about the GramDads Father Initiative. A meeting will be held in the Grambling Hall Auditorium at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5.

 

The purpose of the meeting is to help identify and support young collegiate fathers by enhancing their parenting skills, and strengthening relationships between their children and family.

Bayou Classics takes to the hardwood in Baton Rouge Feb. 9

 

The famous Bayou Classic rivalry now travels from the football field to the hardwood Saturday, Feb. 9 as Grambling now heads to Southern for a round two of the earlier season basketball matchup. 

 

When Southern came to Grambling Jan. 12, the women were defeated in a close 86-81 game but were avenged only a couple hours later by the men, who came out with a 69-63 victory to defeat the rival Southern. 

 

A spectator bus will be transporting students to the Feb. 9 game but you must join the list by Jan. 31 to travel. This is an overnight trip with tickets ranging from $10-15. You must bring your paid receipt to the Favrot Student Union office 206 to be added to the list for travel. All seats are first-come, first-served. 

 

 

 

Basketball season winding down

 

Women’s and men’s basketball has been incredibly successful recently at GSU, making games very popular to attend. So the big question for people who aren’t enrolled at the university is how much are tickets.

 

For women’s and men’s basketball, they play on the same days and in the same arena. The teams have 11 games left, with only six being played at home. Tickets price is $10 a game at home, and away games the price will be $10- $15 a game.

 

 

 

Nursing Applications due Feb. 25

 

If you are interested in a becoming a healthcare practicioner, the Grambing State University School of Nursing are accepting applications through Feb. 25 for Fall 2019. This includes the new Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduate education and research.
