Q: What is the biggest issue facing Grambling?
“In my opinion, one of the biggest challenges we face is a lack of fiscal resources to help us eliminate our deficit. With a lack of funding, we cannot adequately develop and implement educational and enrichment programs for our youth in our community.”
“A lack of funding also limits us in our efforts to expand infrastructure projects and upgrades relative to the basic services we provide to our citizens.”
Q: How does the city need to prepare for the future?
“Relative to our future, we need to take a look at long-range comprehensive planning in all facets of municipal growth: improved utility services, modernization of our facilities and equipment, improved technological services, continuation of economic development expansion, city beautification projects to attract new businesses, cooperative endeavors with Grambling State University.”
“I believe that an investment in these areas will yield dividends of operational efficiency to prepare us for the next millennium and our future generations.”
Q: What is your education background?
“I received my primary and secondary education from the laboratory schools on the campus of Grambling State University. I earned an Associate of Science degree in General Business and a Certificate in Business Technology from Baton Rouge Community College; a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wiley College, home of The Great Debaters in Marshall, Texas.”
“I have also earned a Master of Science Degree in Developmental Education with a concentration in Guidance and Counseling and a Master of Arts Degree in Social Science with a concentration in History from Grambling State University.”
Q: What is your experience?
“I have gained a multiplicity of valuable and rewarding experiences in nearly eight years of service as a Council Member for the City of Grambling.”
“I place great value in citizen input. Along with their input and additional research, I have tried to ensure that the numerous ordinances and policies we have approved will give our citizens the opportunity to not only ‘SHOP GRAMBLING FIRST,’ but to also have an optimal quality of life in our great city.”
“In the area of economic development, I have worked with the mayor fellow council members and the mayor to bring retail development a much needed grocery store to our community. Together, We made a difference!”

Q: What is the biggest issue facing Grambling?
“Me personally I’m all about bettering the youth! Not to put the young at heart down but there is nothing entertainment-wise for the community to do period young or young at heart. So with the park idea that LeShaun and I came up with hopefully that will put an end to that issue.”
Q: How does the city need to prepare for the future?
“Support, support, support!”
“Just like the grocery store, Without the support of the wonderful towns people that store wouldn’t be where it is today! Blossoming and doing better than they projected!”
Q : What is your education background?
“I graduated from THE BEST high school in the land, Grambling High School now known as Lincoln Prep! I also graduated from THE BEST University in the land Grambling State University with a bachelor’s degree in Hotel and restaurant management!”
Q: What is your experience?
“I’m currently employed as an assistant manager at Chili’s in Ruston. I’ve been employed with Chili’s since August 2009!”
“This is my first run for a political passion but I’m willing to learn and I’m motivated to fulfill any duties and tasks that gets placed in from of me!”

Q: What is the biggest issue facing Grambling?
“My greatest concern regarding Grambling is that it is not self-sufficient.”
Q: How does the city need to prepare for the future?
“It is my belief that the city of Grambling and the university should work together in solving our problems.”
“Grambling should have the infrastructure and a plan to support economic development for the next 50 years. Grambling should at some point, have a manufacturing plant, at least one bank, and host an array of annual events that provide an economic boost for the city and the university.”

“B.S. Degree in Automotive Technology at Grambling State University.”

“I have over 20 years’ experience in management, sales, advertising and marketing your experience.”

Q: What is the biggest issue facing Grambling?
“My biggest issue for the City of Grambling is more citizen involvement in continuing to move Grambling forward in part BY VOTING, and spending dollars in Grambling.”
Q: How does the city need to prepare for the future?
“The city of Grambling must continue to recruit citizens with economic ideas and knowledge as to how to put those ideas into actions.”

“I have a BS in Social Work from Southern University (Aug ‘73) and Master of Social work from Grambling State University (July 1998).”
Q: What type of experience do you have?
“I worked for the Federal government for 20 years (in Princeton, NJ, Washington DC, and Dallas, Tx.); and 17 years for the State of Louisiana (Monroe, and Ruston).”

“The biggest issue facing Grambling in my opinion is upgrades and modernization.”

“The city can set itself up for a great future if it is willing to be open to ideas that are presented all the time that could help make the city better.”

“The city’s deficit.”

“The city needs to continue to have an aggressive approach towards acquiring more economic development. This will steadily chip down the city’s deficit to zero.”

“My work experience is for profit & non-profit sales, sports management and entrepreneurial ventures. I’ve also been a short stint museum archivist.”

“My biggest issue facing Grambling is our lack of revenue and businesses. I believe in supporting our local businesses through promotion and spending and supporting new businesses by providing as easy process of obtaining permits and making sure that our tax laws remain business friendly.”

“The city sets itself for the future by simple growing. We have to be open to innovation and support creativity by listening to the concerns of those that live in Grambling and making sure our resident’s needs are taken care of as priority while keeping the greater good of the city in mind.”

“I’ve been in politics for the past 15 years. During my time at LSU I worked on Capitol Hill and with the LA State Senate under former Senator and now President Rick Gallot. I am currently running for a 2nd term on the Grambling City Council.”

Shall the City of Grambling, Parish of Lincoln, State of Louisiana (the “City”), under the provisions of Article VI, Section 30 and 32 of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana and other constitutional and statutory authority, be authorized to renew the levy of and collect a tax of 5.30 mills on all the property subject to taxation in the City, said mills to represent a 1.2 mills decrease over the 6.50 mills authorized to be levied through the year 2019 pursuant to an election held on October 4, 2008 (an estimated $72,781.69 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year) for a period of ten (10) years, commencing with the year 2020 and ending with the year 2029, for the purposes of paying a part of the cost of improving and maintaining streets in the City?
City of Grambling Prop. No. 2 of 3 — 4.48 Mills Renewal – M&CC – 10 Yrs.

City of Grambling Prop. No. 3 of 3 — 26.100 Mills Renewal – M&CC – 10 Yrs.
Shall the City of Grambling, Parish of Lincoln, State of Louisiana (the “City”), under the provisions of Article VI, Section 30 and 32 of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana and other constitutional and statutory authority, be authorized to renew the levy of and collect a tax of 26.100 mills on all the property subject to taxation in the City, said mills to represent a 5.9 mills decrease over the 32.00 mills authorized to be levied through the year 2019 pursuant to an election held on October 4, 2008 (an estimated $233,038.72 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year) for a period of ten (10) years, commencing with the year 2020 and ending with the year 2029, 35% of the proceeds to be collected by the City for the levy of the tax to be used for the purposes of acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining and operating works of public improvement for the City and the remaining 65% of the proceeds of the tax to be used for providing additional support to the Grambling City Fire Department?
