Annual Organizational Fair held

On Sept. 19, 2018 the annual Organizational Fair took place here on Grambling State University located on the Quad at 5:00pm. Students were filled with curiosity and amazement about all the organization’s the campus had to offer. 

 

The purpose of the Organization Fair was to inform students about the different organizations and clubs that are on Grambling State University’s campus. The organization gave different organizations the opportunity to showcase their purpose as an organization and what they have to offer. During the Organization Fair it was more than just giving students information about the different organizations, games were included with food and drinks.

 

 Many students found the Organization Fair very helpful because they discovered more about clubs they were not aware that was on campus. Students left the Organizational very knowledgeable, because the primary purpose of the fair was to enable students to be informed.

 

Rickenzie Johnikin junior from Farmerville Louisiana, majoring in Mass Communication stated, “I found the organization fair very help I like how diverse it is, how friendly the organizations were and how they were will to explain their purpose.” 

 

Student Government Association (SGA) president Adarian Williams shared his thoughts on the Organization Fair “The organizational fair was very helpful, and all the organization were present and their spreading the word about their services, events that are up coming and they’re also looking for potential members to join their organization.”

 

The Organizations that attended the fair consist of Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, Favorite Student Union Board (FSUB), Psychology Club, Order of Beauties, Distinguished Black Women (DBW), Iota Phi Theta, Texas Club, and etc.

 

Xavier Ogunyemi senior majoring in Business Management stated, “Alpha Phi Alpha is about leadership, advocacy, community, academics, and of course Brotherhood.” Throughout the interview with Alpha Phi Alpha they gave information that some didn’t know about. For example, Martin Luther King, and Fredrick Douglass were members of Alpha Phi Alpha.  Jerry Harris senior from Houston, TX majoring in English with a concentration African American Literature “To become an Alpha you have to be a leadership quality and be able to sustain the organization you would have to show you have community services skills.” 

 

Brionna Garlington senior from Kansas City, Missouri majoring in Business Management stated, “Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated is based on public service, sisterhood, and making sure were giving back to the community.” 

 

Overall, the Organizational Fair was a great success filled with different organization around the campus. The fair was to enable all student to be aware of the organization and what they have to offer. For the student who missed the Organizational Fair they have another opportunity to go next year.
