GSUPD will be ticketing

As many of you might already know, the Grambling State Police Dpartment has begun issuing tickets to students, faculty and staff members driving vehicles without proper university parking decals.

Due to the campus beautification project, the university will strictly enforce parking policy restrictions. Anyone commuting must park in the areas designated with a white curb. Faculty slots are painted yellow. Handicap parking regulations are enforced on a daily basis.  Unauthorized vehicles parking in reserved spaces will be ticketed, towed or both.

What to do when you get a ticket? Fines may paid at the Cashier’s Window in Long-Jones Hall between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. All unpaid fines will result in a hold on students’ accounts, prohibiting registration, graduation or requesting transcripts. Appeals are possible and must go through the Traffic Appeals Committee.

All visitors must obtain a temporary visitor’s pass, which are available in the University Police Traffic Division upon request. Designated visitor parking spaces will be available.

The prices for permits are $12 in the fall, $9 in the spring and $6 in the summer for student permits. Vehicles can be registered via Banner Web. Parking handbooks are available  in Long-Jones Hall, Room 171. For more information, contact Interim Chief Howard Caviness at 318-274-2222 or Jeanette Amos at 318-274-3363.
