Williams, G-Men continue progressing

Former quarterback for Grambling State University  Johnathan Williams has been chosen as a member of the SBN Black College All-American Team along with current G-Men wide receiver Chad Williams and defensive back Guy Stallworth.

Williams, of Tampa, Fl, had been previously selected as the Southwestern Offensive Player of the Week and SWAC Player of the Year. While playing under the direction of head coach Broderick Fobbs, Williams led the G-Men to a 9-2 overall record (9-0 SWAC) and its first Western Division title since 2011. He also helped GSU become the first school to earn a perfect conference record since 2008. 

Ranking first in the FCS and in the SWAC in touchdown passes (36), Williams is also first in the conference in passing yards (2,910), third in the SWAC in passing yards per game (262.8) and total offensive yards per game (294.6). Helping those averages was a big win over Prairie View A&M in which he passed for 429 yards including six touchdowns.

Chad Williams of Baton Rouge, received a total of 813 yards and scored a eight touchdowns during the 2015 football season, including two in a 70-54 win over Prairie View A&M University during the Southwest Airlines State Fair Classic in Dallas.

Of Gulport, Miss., defensive back Guy Stallworth connected with his opponents on the gridiron a total of 56 times, 35 of them being solo. His best performance was during the 42nd Annual Bayou Classic, having 23 tackles, assisting in 14 of them.

Using his athletic skills to further himself, former member of the G-Men and wide receiver Chester Rogers of Huntsville, Ala. participated in the Dream Bowl on MLK Day in Virginia Beach, VA. On the Football Championship Subdivision draft board, Rogers is ranked #23 overall and the #3 wide receiver in the country.
