GSU’s oldest department makes Top 50 list in value

Grambling State University has been recognized for having one of the most affordable online master’s programs in curriculum and instruction.

Top Education Degrees ranked GSU’s Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction program 22nd on the website’s 2015 list of the 50 Most Affordable Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction Online.

“We are thrilled to be highlighted as one of the most affordable top education online master’s degree programs,” said Quincy Rose, head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.

“Grambling State University works diligently to provide quality education at an affordable price! Our nationally recognized Curriculum and Instruction Department faculty provide relevant instruction with up-to-date research and best practices that ensure that our students meet with success in the education sector.”

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Grambling State is the oldest department at the university. The department and graduate degree program prepares teachers and educational professionals to become successful career educators.

“Graduates from our program have become leaders within their school districts, and many have pursued doctoral degrees, Rose said.

“Providing quality resources for our students to use with their online instruction, while also providing both virtual and face-to-face conference hours to help facilitate learning affirms our commitment to our students.”

Rose said the department is  “constantly exploring ways to modify our programs to meet the needs of our students at an affordable price. “

“It’s a new day at Grambling State University and within the Curriculum and Instruction Department!” Rose said, reiterating the message of the new president, Dr. Willie Larkin.

The ranking was compiled by evaluating tuition and fees of 146 schools offering these degrees and selecting and ranking the 50 most affordable.

“Our goal with this ranking is to shed light on the more affordable options for those seeking an advanced degree in curriculum and instruction in a flexible online format,” said Laura Kilmartin, online communications specialist at Top Education Degrees.

“Tuition and fees data was gathered from the NCES College Navigator database.”
