Mathematics QEP clinics available for enhancement of students

The Quality Enhancement plan (QEP) mathematics clinic is available for students enrolled in pre cal 1 and pre cal 2. Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sessions will be held in Carver Hall Room 136 until Thursday, Dec. 3.

“Sometimes students aren’t confident enough to ask for help during class hours or are embarssed to admit to be struggling in mathematics and this is where the QEP has stepped in to give you the resources that will help you succeed in mathematics,” said Shakira Hardison, QEP director.

Data show’s students who attend the clinics more than three times weekly make higher grades not only in math, but also in other courses. If you’re having trouble in math do not hesitate to attend!

Students should take advantage of the resources provided by peer tutors and the math faculty.

Pre cal 2 student, Christol Robinson, has been attending the clinics since the second week of September said, “The math clinic helps me a lot because there are less people and I get to get that one on one help and its easier to go back and go over things that I don’t understand.”

Robinson encourages more students to come outbecause she planes to attend more sessions.

The QEP clinic initially began in the fall of 2011. The number of students who attend varies each semester. All are encouraged to participate!
