Favrot Student Union Board releases upcoming activities
The Favrot Student Union Board has released a number of activities for September. Activities will include a Water Play Day at 6 p.m. in the Quad today.
A Gramfam Movie Day will be held on Friday, Sept. 11 – Showing: The “Perfect Guy” in the Ruston Celebrity Theaters at 4 p.m. The first 50 students to sign up is free including transportation. Students must be registered and after the first 50, you must present a valid student ID to purchase a $5.50 ticket. One ticket per student and space is limited. A Pep Rally will be held in the Men’s Gym at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11.
A Poetry Night is set for Mondaqy, Sept. 14 in the Black and Gold Room at 7 p.m. Homecoming Talent Show & Event Host Auditions will be held Sept. 14-15 in the T.H. Harris Auditorium at 7 p.m. If interested email khadijah_34@yahoo.com to get more information.
On Sept. 19-20 a Student Spectator Bus to Alabama State University in Montgomery, Ala. will be available for $90 – price includes one night hotel stay, transportation, and game ticket. The deadline to pay is Sept. 15 – Must be a registered student with know judicial record within the past year. – If paying with cash, credit/debit card you must pay at the cashier’s window located in Long-Jones Hall. – If paying with G-Flex you must pay at the Tiger 1 Card office located in Long-Jones Hall. – You must bring your receipt to office 215 in theunion to officially sign up. – Seats limited.
The Coronation of Miss Grambling State University Joyia Smith will be held Thursday, Sept. 17. The theme will be Krewe of Tigers: The gala will be in the T. H. Harris Auditorium at 7 p.m. and the attire required is semi-formal.
College work study students are required to attend training sessions
The last required training session for all students who have been awarded college work study will be held tonight from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in the Betty Smith School of Nursing Auditorium. The first session was held Tuesday, Sept.

Career and Placement Services to continue clothes closet
The Office of Career Services has been operating a Clothes Closet for participating Career Service Students. The clothes are for those students that do not have the proper attire for interviews.
The clothes are slightly used items donated by the community. The originators of the idea, Ouachita/Grambling Links, Inc., and the Center saw a need. Beginning Sept. 15 through Oct. 25 donations will be solicited.
Changes made in the Grambling, Bethune-Cookman kickoff time
Athletic officials at Grambling State University and Bethune-Cookman University has announced a change in the kickoff time of the the football game on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Eddie G. Robinson Sr. Memorial Stadium. The kick off time is now 6 p.m. CST, which was moved back two hours from the original kickoff time of 4 p.m. CST.
Grambling alumni office send out alum search
During 2015 Homecoming weekend Oct. 23-24 the Office of Alumni Relations at Grambling State University has planned special events for classes to reunite and reminisce on their days at dear ole Grambling!
It’s Class Reunion time for the classes of 1975 (40 years), 1980 (35 years), 1985 (30 years), 1990 (25 years) and 1995 (20 years)! Where are they and can they make it to the GSU homecoming activities?
The office members are now soliciting a person of each class to join the Tiger Class Agent Network to assist in contacting class members.

Groups come together to sponsor national meeting Wednesday
The NASA Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP), in conjunction with the Office of Education and the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Small Business Office is planning to host the second annual NASA Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)/Minority Serving Institutions(MSIs) Partnerships Meeting. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The partnership meeting will be held at the Davidson Center, in Huntsville, Ala., from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The White House Initiatives on HBCUs Office has confirmed their commitment to support and participate at the meeting.
The purpose of the event is to target NASA’s immediate and future subcontracting opportunities for HBCUs and MSIs with our large prime partners. In September 2014, the administrator issued a memo to all officials-in-charge reemphasizing the agency’s 1% HBCU/MSI goal and encouraging them to explore all avenues to engage these institutions in the agency’s industrial base. The inaugural event had over 180 attendees and over 32 institutions participated, along with NASA prime contractors, and acquisition, technical, and small business personnel.

Christ Temple Church to host annual pre-homecoming event
Christ Temple Baptist Church of Ruston will hold its annual pre-homecoming friends and family musical Sunday, Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m. The master of ceremony will be Ricky Davis.
The theme will be “I’mm Going with Jesus all the Way.”
Rev. D.J. Lanier, pastor/teacher and the members of the church encourage all area communities to come out and share in the services.
New Rocky Valley Baptist Church to hold annual revival
The New Rocky Valley Baptist Church of Grambling will hold its annual revival from Monday, Sept. 14 until Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. nightly. The evangelist will be Leslie W. Smith, pastor of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship in Plano, Texas.
The theme will be Making Disciples for Christ, taken from Matthew 28:19-20.
