Favrot Student Union Board        releases upcoming activities

The Favrot Student Union Board has released a number of activities for early September. The board will hold a general assembly at 5:30 p.m. in the Black & Gold Room Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Other activities will be a Water Play Day at 6 p.m. in the Quad on Thursday, Sept. 10 and Friday, Sept. 11 a Gramfam Movie Day – Showing: The Perfect Guy in the Ruston Celebrity Theaters at 4 p.m. The first 50 students to sign up is free including transportation. Sign up in office 215 in the Student Union for free ticket and transportation by Sept. 8. Must be a registered student. After first 50, you must present valid student ID to purchase $5.50 ticket. One ticket per student and space is limited.

 

Career and Placement Services   to continue clothes closet

  The Office of Career Services has been operating a Clothes Closet for participating Career Service Students.  The clothes are for those students that do not have the proper attire for interviews.

The clothes are slightly used items donated by the community.  The originators of the idea, Ouachita/Grambling Links, Inc., and the Center saw a need.  Beginning Sept. 15 through Oct. 25 donations will be solicited.

 

Grambling NAACP to hold monthly meeting Tuesday, Sept. 1

The Grambling Branch of the NAACP will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday Sept. 1 at 4:30 p.m. in the Grambling Community Center. David Ferguson and Susan Wiley of the Lincoln School Board will be the guest speakers.  

The public is invited and refreshments will be served. There is no charge. If necessary, please call Grace Tatem at 318-247-8449.

 

CORRECTION

In the July 16 issue in a Page 4 story titled “Alumna to publish children’s book,” Kimberly Monroe was incorrectly identified as a former editor-in-chief of The Gramblinite. She never held that position.
