Grambling High Alums hold first gala

The Grambling High Foundation held their 1st Annual Visions of Excellence Gala at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center on Saturday, May 23, 2015.

The event featured Johnny C. Taylor Jr. as the keynote speaker with Jennifer Holiday, Mary Griffin and the Orchesis Dance Company providing the entertainment for the evening.  Larry Gipson, a 1975 Grambling High School graduate, and Pete Sousa of Good Morning Ark-La-Miss on KNOE-TV8, served as co-hosts for the evening.

Participants were treated to a lovely event designed by The Red Experience and catered by Aramark.  The event was held to raise funds to ensure continued operations at the Grambling State University Laboratory Schools.  The Grambling High Foundation is partnering with Grambling State University to fund and operate the Laboratory Schools for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year.  The Foundation is raising funds to replace the more than $760,000 of higher education funding previously spent by GSU to operate the Laboratory Schools.
