Women’s Basketball announces upcoming schedule

The Grambling State University women’s basketball team released its 2014-15 schedule, a slate that includes 12 home games.

The Lady Tigers went 11-20 last season, and this season the Lady Tigers are looking to claim the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship title. Head coach Nadine Domond, enters her first season with the Lady Tigers.

Grambling will open the season with two road games, starting with a trip to Oxford, Mississippi on Nov. 14 to take on the University of Mississippi. From there, the Lady Tigers will take on Auburn University on Nov. 17 in Auburn, Ala.

The Lady Tigers’ first home game will be on Nov. 20 against Tugaloo College.

Grambling’s SWAC opener will be on Jan. 3, as the Lady Tigers travel to take on the Alabama State University Lady Hornets.

After Christmas, the Lady Tigers will be in Fayetteville, Ark. to take on the University of Arkansas on Dec. 29. Grambling will then return home on Jan. 10 for its home conference match up against Southern University.

Grambling’s SWAC opener will be on Jan. 3, as the Lady Tigers travel to take on the Alabama State University Lady Hornets.

The bulk of Grambling’s SWAC schedule will be played at home with a total of 10 games played in the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. Grambling will travel on Jan. 17 to take on Texas Southern University before playing rival Prairie View A&M University on Jan. 19.

Grambling will then return home for three straight games, starting with Jackson State University on Jan. 24. Next, the Lady Tigers will take on the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff on Jan. 31. 

The Lady Tigers will conclude the three home game series with a battle against Mississippi Valley State University on Feb. 2.

The Lady Tigers’ last home game of the regular season will take place on Mar. 7 against Alabama A&M University where they will celebrate senior night.

The 2015 SWAC Basketball Tournament will be held March 10-14.
