Favrot Student Union Board President Raven LeDay

Q: Where are you from and what is your classification and major?

A: Well, I am originally from Louisiana and I moved to Dallas, Texas. I am a marketing major, I am studying a minor in art, and I am a junior.

Q: How long have you lived in Texas?

A: We moved when I was little but, I moved back and forth between the two states because my father worked here at Grambling State University.

Q: OK, What made you choose Grambling State University?

A: All I know is Grambling, my father was a Gramblinite. I had the opportunity to experience the so called “Old Gram” and it made me want to actually attend this historic university.

Q: How long have you been a part of the Favrot Student Union Board?

A: I became a member of lagniappe my freshman year in 2010. During my sophomore year here, I was chosen to be the chair of feature attractions. I was elected to the board of business manager my junior year, and I was elected president in April of 2013.

Q: What made you want to become president?

A: I observed three presidents and I saw a need for more social presidents that put the students first. I love Grambling, and I want the students to have that same spirit that students need to feel comfortable at their own school so they don’t need to venture out to other schools to have fun.

Q: Which former president did you admire and why?

A: The president I admired the most was Metria Mckall because of her professionalism, diligence, and keen sense of what needs to be done and how to get it done.

Q: What is your next big project for FSUB?

A: College Prom night is one I am currently working on and it will be on Valentine’s Day. I want it to be a full prom with a king and a queen.
