Dear Students:
Greetings and welcome — new and returning students — to Grambling State University (GSU) for the 2013 Fall semester. We are excited that you are here and looking forward to a great semester.
Whether you are a first-time freshman, a transfer student or a returning student, you are the lifeblood of this institution. For this reason, all of our efforts are geared toward providing you with a quality learning experience. We want to ensure that you are afforded an education which results in a successful and rewarding future.
Now that you have enrolled at GSU, you are a beneficiary of all that this university has to offer. From this day forward, your life will be enriched by your connection with GSU and our reputation will, in large measure, be based on your accomplishments. Therefore, it is imperative that you do your very best while you are here. As you plan your schedules, consult with your advisors to ensure that you are progressing satisfactorily toward your degree. Throughout the semester, make regular use of the library, computer and study labs, tutorial sessions and all other services that will aid you in enhancing your studies. Above all, go to your classes without exception and give each class your very best effort.
As you move about the campus, you will recognize the beautification projects in bloom. We are depending on you to exhibit “tiger pride” by keeping the campus clean and free of litter and debris, a place that you can be proud of. We also encourage you to have fun and enjoy the many cultural and co-curricular activities that have been planned for your enrichment and enjoyment.
Again, welcome, and have an enjoyable and productive Fall semester.
Sincerely,
Frank G. Pogue, Ph.D.
President
