The Lady Tigers hit the road again with only a few games away until the SWAC tournament. 

Tuesday afternoon, they played against Alcorn State University (8-33, overall and 1-10, SWAC) as a make up game due to rain in conference play back in March. 

After two runs for Alcorn in the first inning, the remaining innings were scoreless from both teams, making the final score 2-0 Lady Braves. 

The Lady Tigers had their last home game of the season last weekend as they took on Prairie View A&M (15-12, overall and (7-4 SWAC) in a three game series at the GSU Softball Complex. 

GSU (7-34, overall) and (1-12, SWAC) are 3-6 at home this season.  Saturday’s double header began well for Grambling as the game ended 4-2 with runs from Ivory Nichols in the fifth inning and Jassitte Richardson, Ciera Frith and Karroni Brown in the sixth inning. 

However, the Lady Panthers retaliated critically in the second game. Prairie View A&M scored three times in the first inning. Mikiesha Henson put in a run for the Lady Tigers in the second innings. By the top of the fourth inning, 

PVAM scored an untimely eight runs. At the bottom of the fourth, Jasmyn Dunning hit a homerun causing Henson to score again after two RBIs. 

In the fifth inning, each extended their scores by two finishing the game 13-5, Prairie View. Sunday’s final score was 4-3 in favor of PVAM

Although, the Lady Tigers came up one short, there were scores from Ashanti Joe and twice from Alyssa Fontillas

The Lady Tigers with travel one last time as they end the regular season. They will compete against arch  rivals on Friday at 2 p.m. Then head to the diamond a final time in a Saturday afternoon double header at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
