Play season to close out with’Medea’

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Grambling State University is pleased to announce its final stage production of the 2012-2013 season, ‘Medea’, by the classical Greek playwright, Euripides.  

Set in its original form, this tragic Greek tale is of love, passion and vengeance. Come experience a classic unfold on stage, but remember, when Medea is betrayed, everyone suffers!

Directed by the Chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Dept, Dr. King D. Godwin, the production staff includes KaDarius Gray as production stage manager, Mary Fran Crook as set designer, Sean Turner as technical director, Collin Jno-Finn as sound designer, JeLasa Williams as light designer and Teshia Lincoln as costume designer.

The cast includes: Tiana Alexander as Medea, Orlando Lewellen as Jason, Karlie Robinson as Nurse, Brenton Douglas as Tutor, Yolanda Ratcliff as Chorus, Sean Turner as Creon, Justin Madden as Aegus, and Trenton Rials and Brandon Mincey as the children.

Performances dates are March 12-15 and the show begins at 7p.m. in the Floyd L. Sandle Theatre, located in the Conrad Hutchinson Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for general. Tickets will go on sale starting Monday March 11, 2013.
