KGRM’s Toy Drive proves succesful

The University’s radio station landed another home run with yet another successful Toy Drive for the community.

According to Brandon Richardson, the operations manager of the 91.5 KGRM the radio station was filled with toys in every room. The amount of toys that were donated, including money donations that totaled to $2,112.86 was more than anticipated.  Also among the toys that were donated, majority of them were bicycles.

“It felt great to be a part of the giving of the season and putting a smile on a child’s face,” said Richardson. “The radio station went to several of stores, including Wal-Mart and bought toys. One of the biggest purchases was a Wii, which was given to a young girl.”

Joyce Evans, general manager of the radio station enjoyed having the Toy Drive again and was fond of the new faces that came down to show their support and participate in the season of giving.

“This is what Grambling does, the idea to help somebody. That is part of the legacy of this school,” said Evans.
