From My Heart…
I want to share my deepest feelings with you all on how appreciative I am to have family, friends and Angels like you all. This journey I began over 4 years ago has taught me to believe in faith, to sue my interpersonal strength to overcome, and to have the courage to wear my heart on my sleeve for all of you.
I never take for granted that every smile and compliment given to me is a blessing and gift of your love to me. Sharing the tears from my mothers’ eyes as she tells me how proud she is of me while sharing the tears from my eyes as I realize what my father sacrificed for me to do what I love. I would not be able to give of me if it wasn’t for Roy and Jennifer Collins, I thank you.
Through the speeches I have given; I have been inspired. Through the love I have received; I have grown. Through the determination to be competitive; I have been able to run my own race. I have not allowed my mistakes to be placed above my head; instead, I have placed them under my feet as used them as a platform to view horizons that I once thought were unreachable.
To the World Famed Tiger Marching Band, the Department of Residential Life, the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, the Favort Student Union Board, the Student Government Association, the Grambling Sports Radio Network, the Department of Mass Communication and the Chi Nu chapter of Alpha Phi Omega; because you all have allowed my gift to be expressed in numerous ways, I extend my appreciation for the opportunity to give each of you a part of me. I promise to love and commit myself to make a difference. I will never take your love and faith in me for granted. This is what has made me “THE VOICE”.
