GSU honors life of fallen Gramblinites

Drameri Dill, a first-time Grambling State University student, died in a single-car accident early Sunday, Nov. 4. He was 22. The matter is being handled by the Ruston Police Department.

Dill, of Clinton, Miss., who transferred to GSU from Louisiana Delta Community College, was captain of Bac Doe Production, an intramural basketball and flag football team at the university.

“We regret the loss of Drameri Dill, and we wish his immediate family and other family members our deepest sympathy as they grieve during this difficult time,” said Frank G. Pogue, president of Grambling State University.

Dre was always excited. If you knew him, you knew that no matter what, he always had a big smile on his face. Dre was a very nice and cool guy to be cool around. I was very excited for him when he came to Grambling because it’s always good to have good friends attending the same school as you. He was very excited to be part of #GramFam. I just wish that I could see him walk across the stage. It’s sad that Dre is gone away from us at a very young age. I’m proud to call him my friend, my homie and my brother from another mother. We all miss him dearly. He’s in a better place now watching over all of us. I call him my guardian angel! R.I.P DRE! I ask that you all continue to pray for his family and friends. Also keep one of his best of friends, Earl Williams, in your prayers as well.

To our fellow humble friend Drameri Dill.

It’s funny how growing up as children we hear about people dying and when our elders go to funerals you never would think that it’ll be young people in society, as to now-a-days it seems as if we bury the young before the old.

God calls his angels home when he’s ready. On the day we lost you we had to face the fact that it was your call home. We shared many wonderful times and on the days we were down we could always depend on your smile to brighten our day its still a shocker that you’re gone but we know you are at peace now in a much better place with all the love shared we still manage to love you and will continue to love you

Dre..rest in peace sweet baby continue to smile down upon us and we’ll see you soon.
