AKAs host pink and green ball

Wednesday evening at 7:08 p.m. in the Black and Gold room, the Alpha Theta chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority centered their week of events with a pink and green ball.

As attendants walked in the door, they were greeted by Miquel’s song “Adorn.” The mellow mood of the song defiantly set the tone for the entire event.  The pink and green ladies turned the Black and Gold room into a greek fairy tale set for a pretty princess.

Soror Robyn Cole, an English major, stated the sisters of AKA decided to throw the ball because, “It’s something different to get everyone out of their shell. It’s something different, so we can only go up from here.”

The ladies and gentlemen that attended the event defiantly held the upward desires of the AKA’s and came out dressed to impress. There were a multitude of ladies with flowing hair and goddess like dresses, while the guys held their part with suits in honor of the princesses of pearls.

The ball was set up to bring a party atmosphere, however it ended as a chilled gathering where many of those in attendance got to mix and mingle with the ladies in pink and green.

This relaxed atmosphere was perfect for Kacee Houston, a junior criminal justice major who, “Came to the ball to get better acquainted with the organization.”

The people that didn’t get to make the ball before the magical illusion disappeared, can get a chance to  relive the magic with the pink and green princesses  later on this fall at their Pink Week and Mr. AKA pageant.
