Cedric Bailey empowers GSU students

An inspirational, “Take Control of Your Future” seminar was sponsored by the Grambling Sports Network, March 29 to provide mass communication students with the opportunity to learn about the future of radio in a positive light.The motivational keynote speaker, Cedric Bailey, vice president of Operations for “Rejoice! Musical Soul Food” radio station, shared inspiring and uplifting words of wisdom. Being in the radio business for more than 15 years, Bailey has learned the profound power of media.

His experience from working in various markets in the Southwest including Ada & Ardmore, OK & Forthworth has taken him to the heighten of his career.

He’s currently radio personality of the year. Bailey has remarkable talents as he has represented a variety of radio formats including Gospel, Top 40 and AC. Presently, Cedric Bailey works with Rejoice Radio Network which has been recognized by the Stellar Awards as one of the best Gospel Radio Networks in the country.

Bailey presented Santoria Black, network director, with a token of appreciation for making the program a success.

He presented an influential message to students about being successful and how everyone has dreams and goals and that they can make it.

Bailey used his life story to empower students to work really hard because we are leaving in a world of challenges. He took great pleasure in inspiring others about the competitive radio business.

The group was taught to be honest, prepared and confident to succeed in the field of radio.

He reminded students that before putting anything out in the public or radio, one should always double check.

Students were inspired to choose a circle of friends who will support and motivate them.
Bailey left the crowd energized and inspired and reminded students that the “The Sky is the Limit.”

Although the program was short, it was very captivating. Jacoby McNeal, junior, mass communication student said, “The seminar was very inspirational” and that he always enjoy having great professionals coming back to speak to students.

Bailey was acknowledged by the Grambling Radio Sports Network for sharing his knowledge with students.
