Dear Student:
Happy New Year, and a hearty welcome to our new and returning students to Grambling State University for the 2011 Spring Semester! It’s going to be an exciting year, and I hope you will catch the excitement.
I am excited about, and proud of, our reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, which we received on December 7, 2010. This is, of course, a major accomplishment for the university, and I know you share my pride and excitement.
I am also excited about working with you, seeing you around campus as you go about your daily routine and, with the help of the entire university family – faculty, staff and administrators – helping you achieve your goal of a higher education. I encourage you to study hard, stay focused on your goals and pursue them with determination and tenacity. Take advantage of any and all opportunities to serve your fellow man and, thus, create a campus community conducive to learning and sharing.
Again, welcome back! With all of us working together, I know that 2011 will be another successful year for you at Grambling State University.
