As the holiday season swiftly approaches, many are already beginning preparation. Charles P. Adams and Jacob T. Stewart buildings are having a can food and clothing drive for the holiday season. Both buildings have bins where students and faculty can place nonperishable food items to give to the needy this holiday season.
Outside of Grambling State University, other businesses and programs are preparing for the winter and holiday season. Wal-Mart will be giving out free flu shots since winter is the most common time of year to catch the illness. Churches and other places of worship will be holding coat drives to take to shelters for those in need of winter clothing.
After the Bayou Classic, the First Year Experience department will be holding a toy and book drive to give to the students at Alma J. Brown and Ruston Elementary schools.
