Holiday Arts Tour set for Nov. 19-21 in Ruston

On Nov. 19-21, the North Central Louisiana Arts Council will host its 13th Annual Holiday Arts Tour. The tour, which takes place in Ruston and throughout Lincoln Parish, will feature paintings, pottery, jewelry, and other designs created by regional artists, as well as live music by local favorites.

Festivities will begin Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. with an Art Crawl through downtown Ruston until 9 p.m. Tour sites will also be open Saturday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One addition this year is the increased number of musical offerings. Last year when Gov. Bobby Jindal proclaimed 2010 “The Year of the Song” in Louisiana, NCLAC decided to honor that proclamation by making “The Year of the Song” the theme of its 13th Annual Holiday Arts Tour.

Throughout the weekend, visitors will have a chance to listen to a variety of regional musical talent, from R&B to Southern folk.
An open-mic concert for singer-songwriters will close the tour from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lincoln Parish Library Events Center on Sunday, Nov. 21.

A complete schedule and more information about each location, artist and musician can be found on NCLAC’s blog, www.nclac.wordpress.com.
