Celebrities as role models

Winston Churchill once said, “All men make mistakes, but only wise men learn from their mistakes.” While some may take this quote to heart, others may not.

Despite his good deed of talking down a suicidal man, Clifford “T.I.” Harris will be serving another 11 months in prison.

“As I discovered in talking to my probation officer, I had many problems from my childhood,” said T.I.

“Now I am down to the disease of addiction.
“I need help for me, my mother, my kids. I need the court to give me mercy. Judge, don’t send me back to prison.”

The rapper previously served 10 months on federal weapons charges.

He then violated his probation and was arrested with his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, on drug possession.

“I think Mr. Harris had had about the limit of second chances,” U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell Jr. said in court, according to a report by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Do some celebrities forget that people look up to them?

Celebrities get arrested all the time.
The most popular thing lately seems to be getting arrested when you just get out of jail.

One of the most popular celebrities in jail is Lindsay Lohan.

After violating probation, Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 3 months in an inpatient rehab.

She was released from jail after only 14 days and only 23 days in rehab.

Like most celebrities say after serving time, Lohan said she would change her life, but got arrested again.

After failing one of her mandatory drug tests, Lohan was sent back to jail. She was released shortly after.

At least T.I is going back to prison on different charges.

Sadly, celebrities are role models. It should be the parent’s job to teach their children the good from the bad.
But it’s 2010.

This generation doesn’t understand that it’s OK to be innocent and well-mannered and not OK to constantly do drugs and get arrested.
But at one point in time, celebrities were also being raised.

Those in the spotlight may not have signed up to mold minds but it comes along with the territory. Everyone (including Lindsay Lohan) has the right to make mistakes, but she and other celebrities need to know that their mistakes will be plastered all over in a millisecond.
