I, Casey Linn Wells, was elected Miss Sophomore of Grambling State University 2010-2011. Born and raised in Bronx, New York, I currently resides in Magnolia, Arkansas.A sophomore majoring in mass communication with a concentration in broadcasting, I am also a member of Grambling Sports and Radio Network.
After graduating, I aspire to be an NFL sideline reporter and one day have my own television show.
I plans to attend law school at New York University and receive my law degree in entertainment.
My platform is “Confidence Starts Within.” I chose this platform because it’s very important for everyone to have confidence.
With confidence you will succeed, due to high self-esteem.
Self-esteem is central to everything you do. It affects your behavior and thoughts. It changes how you feel and value yourself. It can be the difference between success and failure.
Self-esteem can affect your thinking, cause your outlook to be positive or negative.
It affects your confidence and most importantly, self image. If you do not value yourself, how will you be able to value others?
Self-esteem enables you to have the right attitude to succeed at work.
Your potential to achieve what you most desire is directly related to your self esteem.
On the other hand, failure is much more likely when you suffer from low self-esteem because you will believe others when they tell you why you cannot succeed.
Those are the main reasons I chose self-esteem as my platform and why I feel it’s imperative to push forward my platform.
I plan to host seminars on self-esteem and confidence. Also by having motivational speakers, I believe my platform will help student go a very long way, and help with their future aspirations.
