Dallas alumni chapter prepares for State Fair Classic gameThe GUNAA Dallas Chapter is preparing to meet and greet alumni for the Annual State Fair Classic, featuring the Grambling State University Tigers and the Prairie View Panthers. The game will be held on Sept. 25 at the Dallas Cotton Bowl.

The Host Hotel for the Tiger Family is the Renaissance Hotel. The hotel is located at 2222 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75207. The hotel’s number is 214-631-2222. The room rate is $92 per night plus taxes.

Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society to hold info/rededication sessions

The Louisiana Eta Chapter of Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences at Grambling State University will meet each Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Carter G. Woodson Hall in Room 104.

Information and rededication sessions will be held each Tuesday beginning Sept. 21. The society is calling all 2009 and 2010 inductees to participate.

Political Science Department to sponsor a candidates forum

The State and Local Government class and the Department of Political Science/Public Administration will sponsor a 2010 Mayoral Forum, Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the School of Nursing Auditorium on the GSU campus.

A forum for City Council candidates will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. also in the School of Nursing Auditorium.

SGA and Lyrical Quest to collaborate event Wednesday

The Student Government Association will present The State of Union Address Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Black and Gold Room. The local student artists of Lyrical Quest will perform at the event. All students are encouraged to attend.

College of Business busy with many activities this semester

There are a lot of things happening in the College of Business.

In this new school year, the College of Business is implementing a dress code. Every Thursday, business majors are to dress for success.

The next thing to take place was a meeting among some of the male business-minded majors.

The last major thing to take place in the college this week is a visit today from two-time New York Times best-selling author Steve Kaplan. Second Annual Royal Affair

Join the sophomore and freshman class for the Second Annual Royal Affair. The Royal Affair will take place on Tuesday, Oct 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Black and Gold Room.

This event is a formal dining experience and a lesson on proper dinning protocol. You will be able to enjoy a meal and intake valuable etiquette lessons, all while you socialize with friends.
