Grand opening of Topio’s
Aramark will be hosting a grand opening Sept. 1 in Tiger Express from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. There will be prizes, giveaways from Coca-Cola and Starbucks will be having a buy one get one free frapp for a friend.
Dallas alumni chapter prepares for State Fair Classic game
The GUNAA Dallas Chapter is preparing to meet and greet alumni once again for the Annual State Fair Classic, featuring the Grambling State University Tigers and the Prairie View Panthers. The game will be held on Sept. 25 at the Dallas Cotton Bowl.

The Host Hotel for the Tiger Family is the Renaissance Hotel. The hotel is located at 2222 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75207. The hotel’s direct phone number is 214-631-2222. The room rate is $92 per night plus taxes. Reservations can be made as early as today!

GSU-Men of Integrity group to host weekly student meetings
The Grambling State University-Men of Integrity extends an invitation to all male students to join the group in a weekly meeting. Meetings are held on first and third Thursdays at 6 p.m.

The group will hold its next Epiphany mission Oct. 15-17. The president of the organization is Erasmus Y. Page. For more information call 318-274-3135.

Haven Learning Center now
accepting enrollment applications
The Haven Learning Center, located in the Lincoln Family Housing Complex on Highway 80 in Grambling; is now accepting applications for child care. Grambling State University employees may enroll children and receive a 10-15% tuition discount.

The center cares for children 6 weeks to 12 years, seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Certified teachers provide a quality weekly theme for lessons using a creative curriculum. The small class learning environment provide independent personalized care for all children and satisfy all Louisiana Quality Start program requirements for healthy social-emotional growth.

The center offers a nine and 12-hour program as well as part time care and several payment options to meet the needs of parents. Child Care Assistance is accepted and tuition payments can be made online via our web site.

HBCU Digest invites student writers to contribute to publication
HBCU Digest is now opening up its publication to student writers in order to aid them in building their portfolio in preparation for a career beyond college. The Digest is committed to the uplifting of historically Black colleges and universities and those who do and have attended these institutions of higher learning.

All students or graduates interested in publishing articles in the Digest are encouraged to do so by contacting the Digest through the web site. Students at these institutions are the primary source for publications and are “in the know.” Therefore, both the students and the Digest will benefit through this partnership. Port City Classic
The 2010 Port City Classic where, Grambling State Tigers will be competing with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in their first-ever meeting on the gridiron will be held on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. in Shreveport.
