Tigers suffer loss from Northwestern State, 5-3

At last night’s home game, The G-Men baseball team put up a scuffle on the mound against the Northwestern State Demons, but the victory ruled in favor of the opposing team, and it showed. The Demons scored their first three runs in the top of the first inning, with The G-Men only scoring one run in the bottom of the inning from Arthur Mazierski. For the duration of the game both teams were against their opponents scoring, with Demons LHP/OF Jacob Williford throwing four innings and allowed just one hit and a run while striking out four. While the temperature dropped and the rain began to fall, the Tigers and Demons continued to hit foul balls and few players were unable to make it to the first place, making it impossible for them to score.

When asked about his team’s performance, head coach of the Tigers James Cooper said, “We came out flat. We cannot play the way that we did.” Next up for the G-Men is a doubleheader against Texas Southern in Houston this weekend.
