Lady Tigers Undergo Loss

The Lady Tigers Basketball Team ended their season Thursday night with an upsetting loss against the Texas Southern Tigers in the quarterfinals round.Adrenaline was raging through both squads as the players vied for the win against one another.

GSU Lady Tigers began with the lead in the first half of the game, and held their largest but final lead against their opponents at 12-7 with 13:03 reading from the clock.

Texas Southern then returned defeat against the Lady Tigers with a 15-2 run to take the 22-14 lead, giving them advantage which lead to a 35-25 mark at the halftime break.

In the second half the Lady Tigers struggled to being the trounced team, but the adversaries against them were too much to seize.

Later in the half, Grambling attempted to make a comeback but resulted to shooting only 34 percent from the court.

Ending the game was a final score of 63-57. Lead scorers were Secrett Anderson with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots and Wymeka Randle with 10 points and four rebounds.

Texas Southern’s Gabrielle Rosigi had a game high of 20 points while Jasmine Cannon had 10 points.
