Miss GSU SPEAKS

Hello, Grambling Family! Greetings and Happy New Year to new and returning students! As Miss Grambling State University, I would like to welcome you to the 2010 spring semester as well as to extend a heartfelt welcome to our Interim President Dr. Frank Pogue and his family into our Tiger family.

I would like to encourage all of you to be superior representatives of Grambling State University.

The programs here will prepare you for a successful future by training you and providing you with the skills needed to excel in your career field.

I would also like to encourage all of you to take advantage of your college opportunity and attend classes regularly along with attending campus events.

I want to advise you to take part in internships, job fairs and other programs and organizations that would benefit your journey ahead.
During the fall semester, we showed school pride by supporting your G-men football team, World Famed Tiger Marching Band, cheerleaders, and volleyball team.

We also had a fun and exciting homecoming with the activities planned for that week.

Let’s show that same school pride by supporting our basketball, baseball, softball and track teams.

Let’s also take part in the Tigerfest activities. Here in Tiger country, we bleed black and gold, and we pride our school on education as well as fun.

To new students, choosing Grambling State University was a great choice. And to all of the returning students, thanks for coming back to dear old Grambling, where everybody is somebody.

Ahvery Thomas is Miss GSU and a senior business management/marketing major from Ruston.
