Changes in the administration at Grambling State continue. The University of Louisiana System approved the appointment of Dr. Connie Walton as interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs on Jan. 8. Dr. Robert M. Dixon resigned the previous day.
Walton had served as the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences since 2005.
The board also approved the appointment of Dr. Evelyn Wynn as the interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
The changes follow in the wake of President Horace A. Judson’s resignation and the appointment of Dr. Frank Pogue as interim president last semester.
Dr. Walton has a B.S. in chemistry from GSU and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Wynn had served as acting associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences since last year.
