September kicks off 4-H drive

Area 4-H enrollment will begin in September for Lincoln Parish Schools. Lincoln Parish 4-H officials are looking forward to working with each school. Great educational programs have been planned for monthly club meetings, and fun experiences. This year the club will focus its educational efforts on the environment specific to the state of Louisiana, along with the mascots, “The Coastal Creatures.”

The organization will emphasize being good environmental stewards with wise conservation practices. The club will communicate the importance of water conservation as a whole and specific to Lincoln Parish.

Many are familiar with the state wide youth program, but some may ask, “What is 4-H?” 4-H is the largest Youth Development Organization in the country and has been a fixture for Louisiana for over 100 years.
The organization does not focus on just one area of interest or talent; it offers over 50 different project areas and is diverse in it’s offerings of experiences. 4-H is co-curricular, and club meetings are held during school hours for each school once a month.

Your child should come home with a 4-H newsletter and enrollment card. Parish enrollment dues are $5.
